Valley City Hockey is seeking a part-time team member to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the club and facility. We are looking for someone with excellent organizational skills, the ability to work well independently and collaboratively, strong computer/technology skills, clear communication and a love for hockey.  

Responsibilities Include:

Facility/Scheduling

• Input/Update all VC facility, practice & game schedules on website
• Schedule rink opener/closer (Keyholders)
• Schedule Zam Drivers & update Zam Driver contact list
• Schedule Open Skate Workers
• Create & post locker room schedules ahead of weekend games
• Ensure GameSheets is set up & iPad ready ahead of weekend games
• Schedule & track hours for rink staff (currently 1 Rink Assistant)

Team & Event Coordination

• Recruit & support team managers for Squirts, Mites & Termites
• Assist with coordination of Try Hockey for Free event
• Mite & Termite Jamboree planning/coordination 
• Facilitates jersey & equipment check out & return
• Photo day coordination
• Help parents get connected with schedules, team chat & email lists
• Assist board with Winter Raffle, Fireworks and Viper Cup Fundraisers

Cleaning Coordination 

• Coordinate schedule/needs with cleaning contractor
• Create plan for additional rink cleaning needs not handled by contractor
• Organize rink “Deep Cleans” at beginning & end of season
• Order and organize cleaning supplies

Role Can Grow to Take on:

• Registration & team rostering
• Assisting with charitable gaming reports/counting
• Additional fundraising coordination

This is a flexible role that we expect to average 8-10 hours per week. Pay starts at a salary of $750/month from October 1, 2024 - the end of the season. (Summer schedule/pay may differ.)
